The North Bundaberg War Memorial and Park were dedicated in a ceremony held on Saturday 17 August 1946. The tablet on the memorial bears the names of the men from North Bundaberg, representing all three services, who gave their lives during the Second World War.

The North Bundaberg Progress Association undertook the collection of subscriptions from the public to fund the memorial. At the time nine palm trees were also planted in the park and a metal plate bearing the name of a fallen soldier was attached to each tree. During the ceremony the North Bundaberg Progress Association formally handed over the memorial and park to the Bundaberg City Council for caretaking. Mayor F.H. Buss performed the honour of unveiling the tablet and memorial.
