In February 1863 the Presbyterian’s held their first meeting at the court house, now the Town Hall Green. Their first church was built in 1865 at the site now known as St Stephens Hall. The new Presbyterian Church opened in 1881 and is now St Stephens Uniting Church and it cost a massive £4400.

Many years ago, the Congregational Church, because of dwindling numbers withdrew from Maryborough and its members were absorbed into other churches leaving the Presbyterian and Methodist Churches to amalgamate on 22 June 1977 and becoming the Uniting Church in Australia, Maryborough Parish.

In keeping with times the Uniting Church erected known Honour Boards from various now closed churches and these are on display in the foyer of the present church. Any new discoveries will be added to the listings.

The Honour Boards commemorate WWI & WWII members, with Presbyterian  (158 names), Wesley (27 names) and St. Stephens (103 names). The boards are situated inside the main church entrance foyer.
