The Port Pirie celebration of the South Australian annual memorial service for the fallen South African soldiers will be held next Sunday afternoon on the Recreation Ground. The Service will take the form of the church parade, in which all the local military  forces will be represented. Major Knight is making the arrangements. In connection with the service Mr. W. E. Hamp, hon. secretary for the Port Pirie and Pirie South Christian Churches, wrote a letter to the Corporation stating that his churches proposed holding a patriotic service in the Town Hall on Sunday evening and inviting the Mayor and councillors to be present officially. A local townsman had generously  offered to guarantee all expenses in connection with the service so it was proposed to take up a collection in aid of the local Red Cross Fund. The Council "received" the Letter.
