A meeting was held by the Court Pirie Ancient Order of Foresters on Friday the 19th of March 1915 to honour their comrades at the front. There, the Chief Ranger suspended ordinary business to read the following:

"Brethren; be upstanding in honour and remembrance of those who have gone to fight our country's battles and to safeguard our homes.

Especially do our thoughts go out to the brethren of this Court and all other Courts of the Ancient Order of Foresters.

We earnestly hope the day will soon dawn when they will be safely restored to us.

To the wounded and the sick, to the widows and the fatherless, and to all who mourn the loss of dear ones, do we tender our heartfelt sympathy and in all reverence we shall gratefully cherish the memory of those who have fallen.

We sincerely trust that the time will soon come when this earth will enjoy the blessings of peace, when nations shall live in perfect harmony, and war will be no more. God Save the King."
