The Memorial Plaque at the entrance to Mackay War Memorial Swimming Centre was created by Mr McIntosh represents the Navy, Army & Airforce, a Lancaster bomber, battleship, submarine, Owen Gun, hills  of New Guinea, sands of Egypt with the sun shining on a Dove of Peace in the background with the Southern Cross & two bronze wreaths on either side with the words "Dedicated to the Fallen of Mackay & District, Lest We Forget.”
