In 2015 the 9th Battalion Royal Queensland Regiment presented its Colours to St John's Cathedral prior to their formal laying-up in the Cathedral. Receiving the Colours are the Governor of Queensland, the Hon Paul de Jersey, and the Dean of the Cathedral, the Very Rev'd Dr Peter Catt.
