On 22 June 2019 the Patriots Australia Military Motorcycle Club took part in their 6th commemorative ride to the Afghanistan Avenue of Honour in Yungaburra, Queensland. The ride involved more than 100 motorcycles who made their way from Holloways Beach to the Avenue, where a small service was held in honour of those who served in Afghanistan.

The Afghanistan Avenue of Honour (AAOH) is the Cairns Chapter of the Patriots Australia Military Motorcycle Club's chosen charity and hold this ride annually to raise funds for this organisation.  The Cairns Chapter have been supporting the AAOH committee for the past six years by raising funds for the maintenance of the grounds and memorial. Since starting the annual ride the club has raised more than $25,000.

The Afghanistan Avenue of Honour is a memorial dedicated to the memory of all who served in Afghanistan and to those brave and selfless Australians who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of freedom and liberty.

For those wishing to make a financial contribution to the ongoing maintenance of the Afghanistan Avenue of Honour, there is a donation box on site at the Avenue or information is available on their website.

Photos from the event can be found on the Afghanistan Avenue of Honour Facebook page.
