Laidley War Memorial

Story

Posted on

The Laidley War Memorial was originally erected to commemorate those from the Laidley district who died in service or were killed in action during World War One.

Set on a five stepped base, surrounded by paving, the memorial is one of the tallest obelisks in Queensland, with a laurel wreath and sword near the top of the obelisks.

The names of those from the district who lost their lives in World War Two are inscribed on the front of the memorial while the names of the World War One soldiers are inscribed on the other three sides.
