The Tiaro Sub-branch was established in the 1920s as the Tiaro-Bauple RSL Sub-branch and meetings were held in the Tiaro Community Hall and the Bauple Band Hall. Membership waxed and waned until after WW2 when it strengthened. The Sub-branch, then known as the Tiaro RSL Sub-branch, received its charter on January 1, 1939.

In May, 1964, the members purchased a church hall from the Protestant Alliance Friendly Society in Tiaro for 50 pounds. It spent a great deal more than that in legal fees and moving the hall in one piece from Bridge Street to its present location. The move was completed on the back of a WW2 ex-Army Studebaker 6×6. Refurbishing the hall cost three times its purchase price, but most of the timber came from the timber mill of a member, and it was members’ labour that completed the job.

The War Memorial is located near the Tiaro RSL building and the Owanyilla Honour Board is inside the hall.
