Tomorrow afternoon an all important event in connection with the goldfields will take place opposite the Kalgoorlie Railway Station, when the monument subscribed for by the people of Kalgoorlie in memory of soldiers who fell in the Great War will be unveiled with due ceremony.

The pedestal fashioned from Bullabulling granite, stands 14ft. 2in. high, and is surmounted by a bronze figure of an Australian digger in an attitude of attack. The figure is 7ft. 6in. in height.

The designing and modelling were done by Mr Peter Porcelli, who was also entrusted with the contract for carrying through the work to its completion…
