In 1991, on the 125th Anniversary of the school, the original Lilydale State School Honour Roll was destroyed by fire. The school was successful in getting funding to replace the Honour Roll with an ANZAC Centenary Community Grant provided by the Victorian Veterans Council.

A book listing the biographies of all the people named on the Honour Roll was compiled by Michelle Matthews with help from the Hon Tony Smith MP and the Lilydale and District Historical Society, "They Answered the Call Historical Project". A copy is on display at the school.
