This memorial is dedicated to the Ships Company and personnel who served aboard HMAS Tobruk [2] L50 providing peacekeeping operations and humanitarian disaster relief. The original tripod ensign staff is fitted with Turks-head marine rope work navigation lights. A "crash net", escutcheon, solar panel and plaque complete the static display which was opened by Miss Chantelle Bohan on the 10th April 2018.

This date also coincides with the Beginning of the Siege of Tobruk (1941) which lends its name to this recently decommissioned ship.

Miss Bohan served in the Royal Australian Navy from July 1997 until June 2003. Her rank on discharge was Leading Seaman, Combat Systems Operator.  During her career Miss Bohan was posted to the Australian Joint Intelligence Centre in Sydney and served on HMAS Tobruk between 1999 and 2001, serving in East Timor and the Solomon Islands.
