Our Excursion to the Coorow Memorial Hall
In HASS this term, we’ve been studying the importance of monuments and memorials, and how they honour the past. We’ve also learned about the protocols followed at a war memorial service.
Our class walked to the Memorial Hall, cleaned the rubbish around it, and took photos of it and wrote a caption to upload to the Places of Pride database. We also conducted our own Memorial Service that included a Welcome to Country speech, singing in the National Anthem, hearing a speaker read out ‘The Ode’. We also laid rosemary at the steps of the memorial site. Mrs Criddle and Miss Herbert were very proud of how mature and respectful the Coorow Junior class members were. Well done class.
