The project to construct the Craigieburn War Memorial was commenced on the 30 December 2014 with the formation of the Craigieburn War Memorial and Remembrance Committee Incorporated (CWMRC).  The CWMRC, in a joint project with Hume Council, selected the location for the Memorial in the new town park (later named ANZAC Park) that was then under construction.  Council and the CWMRC covered the cost of the Memorial on a dollar for dollar basis.  The Memorial was constructed by Glory Marble and Granite Pty Ltd of Thomastown, Victoria.  Construction commenced 16 February 2017 and was completed on the 31 March 2017.  The Memorial gardens were designed and laid out by Hume Council.  The Memorial was dedicated on 2 April 2017 and consecrated by Army Chaplains of the 4 Combat Services Battalion, Broadmeadows.  The inaugural ANZAC Day Service (10 am) was held on 25 April 2017 and the first Dawn Service on the 25 April 2018.  Service Obelisks dedicated to the Royal Australian Navy, the Australian Army, the Royal Australian Air Force and the Australian Merchant Navy was installed on the 28 February 2018.  Dedication plaques listing the names of WWI and WWII veterans who enlisted from Craigieburn, plus those WWII Veterans who attended the Dedication Service, were installed on 13 March 2018.

The Memorial is owned and maintained by the City of Hume with the CWMRC responsible for the planning and conduct of Remembrance Services.  ANZAC Day Services, with effect from 2018 onwards, include a Dawn Service and a Morning (10 am) Service.  The history of the Memorial was published on the 15 June 2018 ' Craigieburn Remembers - the Establishment and Dedication of the Craigieburn War Memorial ANZAC Park'.  Further details of the Memorial and work of the CWMRC can be found at www.craigieburnwarmemorial.com
