World War II Honour Board Unveiling

On Sunday 17th September 2023 Senators Anne Urquhart and Jacqui Lambie unveiled the new World War II Honour Board in the South Riana Memorial Hall.  Mr Graham Deacon, President of the Penguin RSL led the dedication proceedings, Corporal Curtis Willcox played the Last Post and Rouse and Robin Mackrell played the bagpipes. It was a truely fitting occasion to honour 59 veterans with a connection to South Riana. Sally and Peter Cotterell, Natalie Webb and Julie Crawford from the South Riana Memorial Committee plus Lou Perkins from the Penguin History Group all contributed to the event.  A plentiful afternoon tea was enjoyed by all.
