The Bargara War Memorial is sited in an iconic and popular spot on the foreshore in the heart of Bargara. Its scale reflects its position and it seeks to complement, not dominate, its surroundings. It was dedicated in a ceremony on 24 April 2015.

Red up-lights in the memorial symbolise The Eternal Flame, and a removable cast bronze grave-marker rifle and slouch hat are used symbolically on days of commemoration. The slouch hat is placed facing the rising sun. On the base's western side is the emblem depicting the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces badge, and on the eastern side is text from a tribute message to the Australian serviceman.
