Babinda ANZAC Park - Cenotaph
Commemorative elements include a gate, dedicated on 11 Nov 2012, which incorporates 57 Second World War enlistments on the left arch post. One Korean/Vietnam/ Malaysia conflict name is also recorded. Private Charles Lawrie and Sergeant Bert Trackson, both First World War Personnel, are apparent additions to the list on the original war memorial.
The cenotaph incorporates inscriptions on a marble plaque on the north facing side of the obelisk, which includes 70 men who served in the First World War. A cast metal plaque to a Second World War fatality is fixed to the western side. A steel-framed, open-sided shelter contains several military artefacts: an anchor and ship's propeller, a three blade aircraft propeller, and a Second World War field gun. Three cast metal plaques are mounted on rock at the front of the display.
