Gladstone Square was referred to as a Memorial Garden from 1919.

It was eventually decided to erect a rotunda which was built by W.J. Stevens and opened by Miss Ethel Campbell on 16 Nov. 1923.

The rotunda holds honour rolls for the Great War, WWII and Vietnam. There is also a memorial wall with plaques for all conflicts, and a stone with a plaque commemorating local Victoria Cross awardee, F.W. Holmes.
