2383 Private HARRIS “Willy” William John

17th Australian Infantry Battalion, 5th Reinforcements 

Willy was the first son of William Harris, farmer, and Lucy Harris née Whitechurch of ‘Spring Farm’ Temora Road, Young. 

Willy, a labourer, was 22 years and 9 months old when he and his younger Brother, 4038 Private HARRIS Norman Page, enlisted together, at Liverpool, on 22 July 1915. 

Willy died of pneumonia, 27 September 1915, in the Field Camp Hospital, Liverpool. He is buried in the Young Cemetery
