The Memorial commemorates the service of local men and women in:

  • World War I 1914 - 18
  • World War II 1939 - 45
  • Korea 1950 - 53
  • Malaya 1948 - 60
  • Borneo 1962 - 66
  • Vietnam 1962 - 73
  • Kuwait 1991

There is a plaque listing the names of 59 local men who served during World War One.

There is an individual plaque in memory of PTE J M Furness who was Killed in Action on 6 August 1915 at Lone Pine Gallipoli - the first district soldier killed in the Great War of 1914 – 18.
