Here in the centre of the Yarra Valley, is a new type of memorial, a 21st century memorial, one that will move and educate people for generations to come and not only be admired for its beauty, but impress visitors as a public work of art. The Seville War Memorial Committee is a Sub Committee that sits under the Seville Township Group, and is responsible for the design, fundraising, and installation of these four amazing panels. The memorial is located between the Water Play Park and the Warburton Highway in Seville. The memorial honours all the Seville residents killed in service with an additional focus on Captain George Ingram – the Yarra Valleys only recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest award for valour on the battlefield. The Seville War Memorial is a place we can all gather, as a community, on days of national significance, to honour the service and sacrifice of not only those commemorated here but to all of those from the Yarra Valley who served, suffered, and died for our nation.

LEST WE FORGET.
