Appointed to the Tumut Volunteer Brigade 1st April 1912. Resigned 31st August 1914.

Enlisted: 19th August 1914, 1st Australian Light Horse, “B” Squadron. Embarked Sydney per HMAT A16 “Star of Victoria”, 20th October 1914. 

Died of Wounds: “Bomb Wounds Lungs” 21st November 1915. Commemorated: Lone Pine Memorial, Turkey  

Buried at Sea from RNHS “Somali”, about 44 miles North of Alexandria on 21st November 1915.
