Appointed to the Lorn Volunteer Brigade 1st July 1914. Resigned for "Active Service" 31st August 1915. 

 

Enlisted: 1st July 1915, 2nd Reinforcements / 30th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Embarked at Sydney, 17th December 1915 on Transport Berrima. Taken on Strength, 13th Battalion, Australian Infantry. 4th March 1916 at Tel-el-kebir. Appointed Lance Corporal "In the Field", 28th October 1916. 

Died of Wounds, bomb wounds to the head, accidently received at Bombing School, 6th January 1917

Buried: Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L'abbe, France
