Recommendation for the Military Medal
1334 Sergeant Thomas Charles Reid, 110th Howitzer battery, 10th Australian Field Artillery Brigade
For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty.
On the 5th April 1918 during the attack on our line opposite DERNACOURT, this N.C.O. – who was in charge of a gun – displayed great courage and steadiness.
The Battery was under heavy fire but continued in action throughout the day.
By his fine example, fearless bearing and energy, this N.C.O. ensured the continued and rapid fire of his gun throughout this critical period and set a splendid example to his detachment
