The Glebe Public School World War I Memorial is located on the Derwent Street side of the school. It records 303 names of former students who volunteered to go to the First World War.  51 of those men were killed in action and include four sets of brothers.

The memorial comprises a tall, red, marble, cylindrical column with an AIF badge and crossed flags in the centre and a bust of a soldier with slouch hat in white marble on the top. Name plaques are attached to the supporting plinth and on surrounding brick walls.

The memorial was financed by the students who contributed a penny per week. It was refurbished by a NSW government grant in 2016 after an application by local resident Rod Holtham.
