This is a negative of an original sculpture made from a steel cut-out depicting the fallen horseman, William Thomas Leggett, and has mounted bronze statuettes around this figure. This sculpture has been installed by the Rocky Hill War Memorial Museum building.

The Memorial Stone has the following:

“Leggett Memorial

In commemoration of those Australian Soldiers who served in the defence of Belgium, during the First World War.

CORPORAL OF HORSE WILLIAM THOMAS LEGGET 1ST LIFE GUARDS KILLED IN ACTION, 14TH OCTOBER 1914 IN THE TOWN OF GELUEW, WEST FLANDERS, BELGIUM

This sculpture was presented to the People of Goulburn by the people of Wervik-Geluwe, Belgium
