After discussions between the Anglesea RSL and Historical Society, there was a desire to erect a war memorial that listed the names of the Anglesea and District servicemen and servicewomen. Funds were raised through a community fundraising appeal  set up in 2019 with a target set at  $65,000. The stone wall war memorial was built from Airys Inlet sandstone by local stonemason Steve Duff. The war memorial includes 395 names of all current and past servicemen and servicewomen from Angelsea, Airys Inlet, Moggs Creek, Easternview and Bellbrae. The Memorial was opened on Sunday 27th February 2022,  by former Victorian Senator, Former Minister for Veteran Affiars,  Minister assisting the Prime Minister for the Centenary of Anzac and Special Minister of State, and an Anglesea resident The Hon Michael Ronaldson and Surf Coast Shire Mayor Libby Stapleton.
