The first public high school in Dubbo was Dubbo High School. This high school was established in 1917 and except for the Broken Hill High School was the only public high school in western NSW for many years. In 1964 South Dubbo High School was established and then Delroy High School, in West Dubbo, was opened in 1980. In 2001 these three public high schools were merged to form Dubbo College.

There are now three war service honour boards at Dubbo College, Senior Campus. The first two honour boards include the names of Dubbo High School ex-students who served in WW1, WW2 and the Vietnam War. The more recent honour board includes the names of ex-students from Dubbo High School, South Dubbo High School and Delroy High School and their war service from WW1 to Iraq and Afghanistan.
