The memorial is a statuette of a soldier in battle gear, about 45cm high. It stands on a rectangular wooden pedestal about 7cm x 21cm.  The pedestal has a cross on two sides and cutout corners with 10cm tower in bottom of each.

There is a time capsule inside the pedestal, behind the plaque.  It was put there in 1939 and is said to include a list of old boys who went to World War I and a piece of flag which may be Turkish from Gallipoli.
