The German Military Cemetery in Tatura contains the remains of 250 Germans who died in Australia during the First and Second World Wars, either as interned civilians, or prisoners of war (10 Army, 1 Merchant Navy), consolidated in this one cemetery from across Australia.

Each bronze plaque records the deceased's name and the date of their death, with a Latin cross for the civilian internees and an Iron Cross for military POWs.  There is also a monument within the cemetery recording the names of 27 Germans buried elsewhere in Australia, and commemorating 129 Catholic and 45 Protestant Missionaries.

The Cemetery is maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission on behalf of the German Republic.
