The original Avenue of Honour was planted on 26 June 1918. While some of the original Sugar Gums and Kurrajong trees remain, none of the commemorative plaques have survived. In 2014, the Rupanyup RSL erected a stone memorial to the original Avenue of Honour with an information panel. This is located across the road from the RSL. In the same area is a pine tree, grown from a seed from Lone Pine, planted by descendants of WW1 soldiers on Anzac Day 2015.
