World War II Roll of Honour RAAF Local Enlistment Maryborough QLD
Roll of Honour Boards to recognise the region’s World War II R.A.A.F personnel with a demonstrated link to Maryborough who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our Nation. The Roll of Honour Boards provide a legacy to the 62 local men who died in active service during World War II. The two Roll of Honour boards A-L and M-Z were unveiled in November 2020 by Cyril Barbeler whose older brother Gerard, a Flight Sergeant with the No. 12 Squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force, was killed aged just 21, when his aircraft was shot down in an air-fight over Germany on March 16, 1945.
