Harry Thorpe was born at the Lake Tyers Mission Station, near Lakes Entrance in Victoria, to William Thorpe, a Brabuwooloong man, and his wife, Lilian.
Like those from almost every other community in Australia in 1914, men and women from Lakes Entrance, Victoria answered the call to arms in the name of ‘King and Empire’.
