George Moore Wilson and Mary Ann Wilson nee Davidson farmed the land at Clements Gap, South Australia where they raised 13 children.

Four of these children grew up on the farm and enlisted as young men with the First Australian Infantry Force to fight for King and Empire in the Great War.

Walter Broughton Wilson, Service Number 966 enlisted on the 13th February 1915 and was allocated the 27th Infantry Battalion.

Leonard Davidson Wilson, Service Number 5097 and brother Peter Roy Wilson, Service Number 5098 both enlisted on the 17th March 1916. They were allocated the 32nd Infantry Battalion and the 27th Infantry Battalion respectively.

Wilfred Wilson, Service Number 62369 at just 19 years of age enlisted on the 31st May 1918 and was allotted the 27th Infantry Battalion.

By the grace of God all four brothers returned to Australia, but not before three of them were wounded in action. Walter was wounded three times with shellshock, a severe gunshot wound to his right leg that kept him out of action for 12 months and on return to the front, he received gunshot wounds to his chest and left thigh. Peter received a gunshot wound to his face and Leonard suffered Trench Fever.

Lest We Forget.
